My main goal for the new year is to better track my coupon savings. I wish I had tracked consistently from the time I started couponing. I have done a little better this year, my approximate savings was $18,200.00.
I am working on a spreadsheet that will break down savings by store and total percentages, out of pocket, rewards received, total spent, total value, and total savings. This spreadsheet will be in Excel format, and as soon as it’s completed and up to my standards, I am more than willing to share! If you would like a copy, please send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org with YTD Savings in the subject line.
I recommend setting a yearly (or quarterly) goal. You can set this goal as a dollar amount for savings, actual expenses, or even a set percentage. Make sure to reward yourself as you reach each milestone.
Another of my goals is to contribute as much as possible to the kids’ Upromise accounts. I finally have all of my cards correctly registered and hope to start racking up some extra cash. I am also trying to remember to link through Upromise or Ebates before making any online purchases. I have got most of my family members and close friends set up with my Upromsie account, too.
Of course, I have all of the other normal resolutions, too, but those are irrelevant to the savings blog.
I want to hear from you! What are your savings goals for 2009? What will you do with all of the money you are saving? Will you put it towards a trip, paying down debt, or making a large purchase? The possibilities are endless. Leave a comment to this post- I would love some new ideas!!
