Walmart.com to offer "tens of thousands" Wii consoles.

December 7, 2008

I am often asked where a person can get a Wii for less. Anyone that has been looking for a Wii knows that you are lucky to find one, much less a discounted one. Due to manufacturer regulations, a retailer is not allowed to sell any Apple products or video game consoles below MSRP. However, a retailer can ‘bundle’ a product, meaning that they can add items to the product and offer at a discounted price. Wii bundles often include games or controllers at a discount.

Since they are unable to sell these below MSRP, the best way to receive a discount is to purchase a bundle system with a credit card offering rewards. When purchasing a Wii, remember that you will need extra batteries, a memory card, and at least one extra remote and nunchuck. A remote and nunchuck can run up to $50.

Many of you are still searching for that ever elusive Wii. The great news is that Walmart.com announced today that they will be offering ‘tens of thousands’ of Wii consoles on Monday for 249.24 or a ‘value bundle’ for $329.00. I do not know what time these sales will begin, but I would assume midnight CST. These will go quickly, as they always do.
