Black Friday 2010

This page is dedicated to the 2010 Black Friday season.  This year, Black Friday will occur on November 26th.  The actual ads will be available in your Thanksgiving Day paper (not Wednesday!).  If you live outside of a city, consider traveling closer to the city to ensure that you get all of the ads as they sometimes run out before delivering to outlying areas.

During the past few years, stores are opening earlier and earlier, hoping to take advantage of a larger slice of customers.  When all stores open at the same time, it’s difficult to take advantage of each of the store’s deals, so many will choose the store that has the most suitable items and skip the others.  If you’re headed to a larger city (Springfield included), you know that it takes at least 2 hours per store- and that’s just getting in the parking lot!

There will also be a handful of stores offering sales on Thanksgiving day, and others will be devoting their 4 day ad (runs Sunday 11/21-Wednesday 11/24) to bring you even more deep discounts.

It’s also becoming more and more common for stores to put their Black Friday items online.  Most online sales will start on Thursday so that you still have time to go out if you don’t get the item.  Stores are hoping that you’ll do both- because we all know how many impulse items we buy!
